We help firms evaluate whether there is a strong enough value proposition of potential targets to justify the cost of investment. In addition to business considerations, payments assets require specialized evaluation of their functionality, technical stack, and risk exposure.
We assess the asset’s functional capabilities by reviewing product features, allowing us to understand their fit for future purpose. The technical stack is reviewed for flexibility and resiliency, in other words, whether it can meet merger or market growth demands. By comparing the target to its market competitors, we determine the strengths and opportunities the target yields. We can identify potential product gaps by reviewing the target’s market fit. This will edify what needs addressing and how the technical stack can be modified to bridge those gaps.
To evaluate risk, we identify and quantify the key competitive risks and/or trends that could disrupt the target’s current revenue streams, including potential catastrophic risks. To ensure the funding company can implement the desired strategy, we identify the cost implications from risks identified within the target’s payments stack and operating policies. We use this procedure so that potential operating fiscal impacts and non-compliance exposures are considered when determining portfolio viability for future sale or run-off.
